1. Who we are

Squiggly (this "Service") is operated by Kritanta Sasan Roy, an individual developer based in India. Contact: via LinkedIn.

2. What we collect

  • Guest play: a temporary player name, avatar seed, and gameplay state (drawings, guesses, chat). Cleared when you leave.
  • Registered accounts: email address, display name, avatar preference, unique user code, total score, and titles.
  • Social features: friend requests, direct messages, group chat messages, game invites, and voice-call participation.
  • Technical: minimal browser info required to run the game (no ad trackers, no third-party analytics beyond Google Search Console).
  • Consent records: a timestamped record of when you accepted this policy.

3. Legal basis (EU/UK GDPR)

  • Consent: for marketing emails and non-essential features. You can withdraw anytime.
  • Contract: to run the game, save your profile, and deliver social features you use.
  • Legitimate interest: to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

4. India DPDP Act 2023

If you are in India, we act as a "Data Fiduciary" for your personal data. We process it only for the purposes stated above, keep it as long as necessary, and honour your rights under sections 11-14 of the Act (access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, nomination).

5. Your rights

You can, at any time, request to:

  • Access your data (visible in your profile).
  • Correct your display name, avatar, or email.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw marketing consent (link at the bottom of every marketing email).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the EU/UK) or the Data Protection Board of India.

6. Data retention

Chat messages persist until you delete them. Consent records are retained for as long as your account is active plus 3 years for legal recordkeeping.

7. Cookies

We store a session token in your browser to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies.

8. Children

Squiggly is not intended for children under 13 (or under 18 in India without parental consent).

9. Changes

Material changes will be announced in-app and by email. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
